Mommy, would you hand me the?...Nevermind.
Eric had press all morning, so Sophie and I watched Daddy on TV and then headed to Tempe Beach Park. It was a nice place to walk with her in the stroller. We did about a 3 mile walk, got coffee and headed home. I'm enjoying my Christmas Starbucks Cards! It really seems that Soph is ready to crawl. She's right on the brink. So, she has become very adept with her reaching on the tummy or when just sitting. She'll lunge forward in the seated position to get what she wants. She sits very steady now, for long periods, but I'm still worried about her falling backwards. Let's put it this way, I wouldn't leave her there, alone, for a second, in that position. Now the difference between today and last week with her tummy time is her ability to pull her knee up underneath herself. It's only a matter of time until she marries that move with pushing off and we have take off! We have had the luxury of not having to baby proof any hotels so far because she's not mobile enough yet to get into much trouble. I see these days flashing before my eyes. We walked Eric almost to work and then came back and walked around the hotel. Tempe streets aren't really baby friendly after dusk. It's a college town and I believe the students are on Winter Break still, but there is a large contingency of young, drugged-out-looking, homeless people. Maybe it feels different when school is in session. I have forgotten how beautiful these desert sunsets are. I had them for over a year when I was doing Mamma Mia in Vegas and this city scape is similar.
