Graceland, Memphis

Eric, Lisa, and Sophie in front of Graceland Mansion!

Last night, Carolyn, the traveling teacher for the young girls in the cast, came over to sit with Sophie, so Eric and I could go to a friends going away party.  It was at a place called Rum Boogie, where a live New Orleans style band was being featured, on the famous Beale Street.  Beale Street is a long street filled with restaurants and bars, mostly known for a vibrant nightlife.  Eric and I had a great time out with friends.  Thank you to Carolyn for so sweetly watching Sophie.
Today, was Graceland day.  We were so excited and the day totally exceeded our expectations.  It was such an awesome peek into the life of a man who forever changed music and it's place in our world.  We also found it oddly interesting that we have a few commonalities with the Presleys.  We got pictures of eric with his and Elvis Presley's initials, which are posted around the house.

And, while I am not named after Elvis's daughter, my name is Lisa Marie, which also, is what he named his plane:)

One of our favorite parts of the tour was seeing Elvis's Vegas Costumes.

We had no idea how down to earth and generous this man was.  To be such a huge legend, even in his own lifetime, he maintained a seemingly grounded life, with family around him.  It's really sad that he died so early in his life, but, boy, did he get a lot done while he was here.  A true legend.

OKAY, LET"S GET TO THE REAL REASON ANYONE IS READING THIS...SOPHIA!
Sophie was such a good baby during the whole Graceland tour.  She was awake and leaning forward for the first part and then took about an hour snooze.  She slept on the way home and had a normal bedtime.  I always get a bit concerned about messing with her schedule, but she's very flexible and as long as she gets about 3 hrs during the day (normally napping at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.), and it's not too close to bedtime, she is in good shape.  I seriously believe her schedule is a leading factor of why she is so happy and easy going.  With different environments, weather, and people all the time, she is as happy as a baby could be.  "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child," by Dr. Marc Weissbluth.  Best book ever or get his app.  Also, awesome.  And, while I'm at it...when Eric and I first brought her home, we used all the methods from "Happiest Baby On The Block."  This book has a DVD if you can't bear to read another pregnancy/parenting book.  It really works!
