So, here we are in Kansas City, MO for a week and boy is it frigid. The windchill leaves us at negative 11 degrees. That is sooooo cold, which puts quite a damper on our fresh air walks. We are hardpressed to stay entertained in the hotel room. We are at The Hotel Philips here. It has a pretty lobby and a nice ballroom that they are currently using as the restaurant. The normal restaurant is under construction. There is no where to go in this cold except for the lobby and the room, which is pretty much a basic old fashioned hotel room. They call it vintage, but it really is just dated. Very clean, however. We have a mini-fridge and small microwave, but not much else. The crib is tucked into a dark corner, which wasn't hard to find since the entire room is extremely dark. There is not any natural light and it can be very depressing to spend an entire day inside one dark room. Luckily, we have all of Sophie's new toys to play with. I took her to the lobby a few times just for the change if scenery. We are probably a little lonely this wk too because the Abrahams are staying with friends in Kansas, the Milahey's are in NY, Keri Foley isn't in this city, and Eric had press all day today. At least we are only here a week and Eric has the daytime on Thursday and Friday to spend with us. Yay!!!
